The Olympus Stylus 1030 SW Camera has been touted as the toughest point-and-shoot camera in the world. This incredibly waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, crushproof, and dustproof model out performs all the previous Olympus SW series’ digital cameras. It produces even more amazing images (still or action photos) and is more durable under the most rigorous of conditions. Take a look at a the top 10 features of the Olympus Stylus 1030 SW:

Whatever your favorite water activity is, this camera can go with you. And with its waterproof seals and gaskets you can take incredible photos and videos actually underwater to a depth of 33-ft.

2 – Shockproof up to 6.6-ft. and Crushproof up to 220-lbs.- Have you ever lost a camera by dropping it on the ground or on the deck of a boat? You no longer have to worry about that with this camera. You can drop this Olympus Stylus 1030 SW over and over again from up to 6.6-ft. and it can also withstand up to 220-lbs. of crushing pressure. Even under these rigorous conditions it just keeps on taking photos.

6 – 10-megapixel - The 10MP image sensor captures enough detail for photo-quality up to 18 x 24-inch prints.

7 – 3.6x optical wide-angle zoom The 3.6x wide-angel optical zoom allows even more of your subject to make it into each shot — perfect for underwater photography. The lens does not protrude from its body, so it is further protected from harsh conditions.

8 – Face Detection – Face Detection tracks the face within the frame and automatically focuses and optimizes exposure for sharp, brilliant portrait pictures.

9 – In-camera panorama - The Olympus 1030SW camera panorama mode captures three images and stitches them together to create one amazing panoramic picture. 10- 2.7-inch HyperCrystal II LCD This camera is perfect for people with an active lifestyle.
Getting a waterproof cameras generally means that you can get a few drops of water on it, but having the ability to actually take it into the water is very rare. When you want to do that, you usually have to use one of the disposable cameras and then you are lucky if half of the photos actually turn out when you get them developed.

When you can get digital camera that is truly waterproof, you can be assured that you are seeing and getting the shot that you want right away. As soon as you take the picture, you can pull it right back up on the viewing screen and make sure that it turned out. There is no longer the worry about getting home after vacation only to find out that the $10 disposable camera was not so waterproof after all.

As long as you don’t have plans to stay submerged or go very deep, you can get a camera like the Fuji Z33 WP 10MP Waterproof Digital Camera or the Olympus Stylus 1050SW 10.1 MP Digital Waterproof Camera. Either one of these will do the job, but going under water for a long time or even 10 feet is not recommended. You won’t have to worry about them getting ruined if they get splashed, but they are not for swimming.

Now if you plan on taking pictures of the waves crashing over your head, the Canon Powershot D10 is exactly the type of camera that you are looking for. Not only is it a waterproof camera, but it takes shots that make it good enough to serve as your full time camera. You will be hard pressed to find another waterproof camera in this price range that can make that claim.

This sharp looking model will have to problems going as deep as 33 feet. This means you can take it snorkeling if you want and bring back incredible shots of everything you see at the bottom of the ocean. Not only that, but it can go to extremes with heat and cold as it holds up in temperatures ranging from 14-104 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a true hard core camera.

If you are looking to capture those special moments in the water or just want to take some really cool pictures that other cameras will not allow, take a look at the Canon Powershot D10 Waterproof Cameras. They are perfect for underwater shots and good enough to be your regular camera as well . . .

There are lots of reasons why a water resistant digital camera may be a good idea. If you happen to be one of those people that take their camera everywhere, then you’ll need something that can withstand a lot of travel, shock, and water.

Thankfully, cameras have come a long way from their digital beginning, and today’s cameras are resistant against most things. Still, placing a regular digital camera into a tub of water is not a good idea. If you want a camera that is truly water resistant, consider looking at the following types.

The Olympus Stylus 1050, Pentax Optio W20, SeaLife Reefmaster ECO Shot, and Vivitar Vivicam are all great water resistant digital camera options. All of these digital cameras can be placed inside of a body of water without any damage at all. In fact, many of them are made for diving and snorkeling, which makes them great travel cameras.

After all, taking a few photographs of that underwater world is something that everything should do when diving or snorkeling. How do you choose the right camera for you? Well, the first thing to think about is the amount of money that you want to spend on a camera.

If you have lots of money to spend, then you’ll want to look for a water resistant digital camera that includes lots of options, gadgets, and accessories. There are many different cameras of this sort available, so you shouldn’t have any problem finding this type of digital in any electronics store.

If you are on a budget, the best thing to do is look for a camera that will suit your needs. If you don’t care about all the extra gadgets, consider buying a basic camera that will take good snapshots. You don’t have to have the super underwater lens in order to enjoy using your camera.

It’s a good idea to have a water resistant digital camera if you travel a lot. But, even if you don’t travel, having a camera that can resist spills is not a bad idea. After all, you never know when your camera might become damaged due to spilled water.

You’ll find that the cameras listed above are great options for any underwater activity that you may decide to take part in. You’ll also find that lots of other cameras come with underwater optional packaging that might be a good accessory idea . . .

Olympus u TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera is as though as its name. This digital camera is shockproof, waterproof, crushproof and freezeproof. What can be tougher than that? This camera was meant for people that like living on the edge, for tough boys and girls who like to look in the face of danger and take a picture, a high quality picture.

With Olympus u TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera you won’t have to be afraid that you are going to crush it. This camera can withstand the pressure of up to 100kg. So if you ever broke something by sitting on it you have learned your lesson, but this digital camera will make sure you don’t do it again in the moment of weak attention.

Olympus u TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera is also shockproof, meaning that it can withstand a fall from 2m or 6 and a half feet. Now don’t go dropping it wherever you can, but if you do all you have to do is wash it. Yeah, Olympus TOUGH-8000 is waterproof, so if you get it dirty you can just wash it off. It’s good for taking underwater pictures; it can be used under 10m of water. So don’t go diving at the bottom of the ocean, there are special cameras for that.

And my favorite part about Olympus u TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera is that its freezeproof. This digital camera can function normally on -10 degrees Celsius. So not only will you avoid having your interface fogged, or having your camera run slow, you will be able to take high quality pictures as usual.

With all this Olympus camera is made for extreme conditions, you can’t top something like this. But this digital wonder is not only good for hard conditions, it’s also good for what its original purpose is, and that is taking pictures. Olympus u TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera has 12.7 megapixel resolution, making this camera top of the line. It can take both pictures and video recordings. Though video recordings won’t be in a high resolution, but this camera is intended for use in extreme and tough conditions, so we should not be so picky. TOUGH-8000 also has 2.7 inch LCD screen, with simple functions. It’s made to be faster and easier to use than its predecessor. Olympus u TOUGH-8000 Digital Camera also has:

- High-precision 3.6x wide optical zoom (28-102mm*) to capture landscapes through to stunning close-ups even in extreme conditions
-	Avoids camera shake and blurry images thanks to Dual Image Stabilization (combines mechanical and digital image stabilization)
-	6.9cm/2.7″ HyperCrystal III LCD for best ever preview even in brilliant sunlight and at extreme angles (230,000 dots)
- Face Detection for perfectly focused and exposed faces. In combination with Shadow Adjustment Technology, other main parts of the picture are also correctly exposed.
-	Easy checking of air and water pressure thanks to on-screen manometer
-	LED illuminator to lighten up underwater or macro sceneries
-	Liven up your memories with movie recording with sound
-	(up to VGA resolution at 30fps)

It comes with a 45mb memory; you can upgrade that by buying a memory card. But first you need to buy this digital camera. But I don’t think that will be the problem, if you are a person that loves the extreme, this is the perfect camera for you.

Just like the rest of technology, when you finally come around to purchasing a digital camera, there is a new one coming out! Over the past couple years there has been a strong push for good waterproof digital cameras. Having a waterproof digital camera allows you to have many more options. Whether you are scuba diving or snorkeling on vacation, out on the beach with the kids, or enjoying one of many water sports with your friends and family, a waterproof camera is essential. With so many choices on the market, this article will explain a couple of the more popular ones.

Olympus Stylus :

This brand has five different styles: 850, 1050, 1030SW, 720, and 770SW. Of these five, the two that have had the best reviews are the Olympus Stylus 850SW and the Olympus Stylus 1050SW.

-The Olympus Stylus 850SW has 8MP (megapixel) with a 3x optical zoom. It has a 2.50inch HyperCrystal LCD with perfect shot preview mode, waterproof to 10 feet, and shockproof to 5 feet. This model runs around $210. Even though it is a little cheaper than the following model, it has proven to be the best camera for the money.

-The Olympus Stylus 1050SW has 10.1MP with a 3x optical zoom. It is waterproof, shockproof, and a crushproof design. Also featuring face detection and smile shot, perfect shot preview, and shadow adjustment. This model runs around $235.

Pentax Optio :

The best waterproof design for this brand proved to be the W20. This model features 7.0MP with 3x optical zoom. It has a couple unique features, which include high-quality extended movie captures JPEG (640 x 480) at 30fps with editing functions that are built in. This model runs around $260.

Vivitar : The best-reviewed model is the VIVICAMAM-6200W. It features 6MP with 4x digital zoom. This model is specifically designed for divers to take brighter, colorful pictures underwater up to 30 feet. Another cool feature is that it records movies up to 320 x 240 at 24fps. A lot of the reviews I have seen for this camera say that it is an overall good camera for the money and takes pretty good pictures. This model runs around $140.

In summary, the best waterproof digital camera (for the money) on the market today is the Olympus Stylus 850SW. However, if you plan on taking pictures and video more than 10 feet under the water, the model to go with is the Vivitar 6200. If your not feeling up to investing the money in a waterproof digital camera, there are the disposable cameras you can look into. Although the quality of the picture is taking a hit, the camera is pretty durable.
